Term 4 Starts this Saturday.
Concert this Sunday the 30th of October.
On Sunday the 30th of October the Hamilton City Pops Orchestra will perform their “The Sound of Musicals” concert. Many of our tutors and past students will be in the fifty strong orchestra. This is a great opportunity to listen to a community orchestra playing fun music.

Term 3’s final session is on the 24th of September. Enrolments are now open for Term 4, which begins on the 29th of October. Enrol online, or contact the office to re-enrol unless you have already paid for the remainder of the year.

Covid-19 Vaccination Requirements and the New Term
As of 1st July, the University no longer requires those on its premises to provide evidence of Covid-19 vaccination. Mask wearing is still encouraged but not required.
The third term of 2022 starts on the 30th of July. We are still taking enrolments.

New Musical Director Role
WCSM is looking for applicants for the new position of Musical Director for the school.

Expressions of interest should include a short CV that outlines your relevant professional experience for this position and be submitted by 5pm on Friday 27 June. Interviews with shortlisted candidates will be arranged thereafter.

Term 2 2022
Enrolments are now open for Term Two, which begins on Saturday 7th May.
We will take the same care, as we have during Term One, to ensure that the music school is as safe as possible for all our students, following protocols from both the Government and the Ministry of Education.
We do hope to be able to reinstate the Sinfonia Orchestra in Term Two.

Multiple confirmed cases of the Delta variant of Covid-19 has been announced by the New Zealand Government in the last 24 hours. A Covid level alert change has been announced for the entire country, and while the Waikato region is currently scheduled to exit Level 4 as of Saturday, the University of Waikato has made the decision to take every precaution, and cancel all events and bookings for the rest of the week.

- Remain home, and only enter physical proximity with those in your household bubble.
- Essential services, including medical and supermarkets, will remain open, so shop normal, and be kind to each other.

Term One classes resumed on 13th March. You will receive a credit or refund for the missed lesson on 6th March. Contact the office if you would like a refund, or need to know how much to pay.

Classes will resume on 13th March assuming Hamilton stays at Level One. Refunds/credits will be calculated once Term One is complete.
Note that 3rd April is the Easter holiday weekend so no classes will be held.

Due to the recent announcement by the government to raise Covid Alert in the Waikato region (with the rest of New Zealand, excluding Auckland) to Level 2, classes are cancelled for the upcoming Saturday 6th of March. Future classes beyond this should continue as scheduled, unless there are further extensions to the level increase.
You may be eligible for a partial refund for the tuition fees for this session; please contact us to discuss this.

Term 1 is about to begin in less than two weeks! Make sure that you’ve got 13 February marked in your calendar, and your alarms set and ready to go!
For your health and safety, please ensure:
- Scan in using the NZ Covid Tracer app, and enable bluetooth contact tracing if available on your device
- When you drop off your child, do not drive all the way down to the car park to avoid congestion and accidents
- Sanitise and wash your hands regularly
- Stay home if feeling unwell, or if you came into close contact with a confirmed case
