Most parents know that learning music is fantastic for developing young minds.
While parents often steer their children towards a particular instruments, often the best choice is the instrument the child discover for themselves, the one that’s a fit for their personality.
Being part of a community of music exposes young learners to a range of musical instruments. It allows young musicians to explore different instruments and find their groove.
Tutors generally recommend students practice, as a minimum, for the same number of minutes as their age, at least 4 days a week.
Unfortunately, in reality many children do not practice enough, and this holds back their learning and enjoyment of music.
By joining a group or ensemble, young musicians find it highly motivating and are much more motivated to practice and keep up with their friends in the group.
The Waikato Community School of Music is dedicated to making high-quality music education accessible, affordable, and enriching for all ages in the Waikato community.
